At present, deep processing of non-metallic minerals, improvement of their quality characteristics, and production of competitive materials that meet industrial requirements are among the key priorities in the development of the geological sector. In this context, the laboratory of non-metallic raw material processing is conducting systematic and comprehensive scientific and applied research.
Within the framework of the budget project No. 1826-24, research is focused on studying occurrences and перспективные areas of magnesium-bearing non-metallic minerals, as well as developing innovative beneficiation technologies for gypsum, statuary marble, microcalcite, bauxite, glauconite, phosphorites, and other raw materials.
Laboratory studies are being carried out on samples from the following sites:
The primary objective is to obtain raw materials that meet industrial standards and to develop efficient processing technologies.
Under Clause 61 of Resolution PQ-128, exploration and evaluation of magnesium are being conducted in the перспективные areas of Ziyokor, Arvaten, and Gazgan.
Studied samples include:
The research is focused on developing technologies to obtain products with over 95% MgO content, enabling the production of high-purity magnesium compounds from local raw materials.
Within Clause 62 of Resolution PQ-128, exploration and evaluation of graphite are being carried out in the перспективные areas of Sazagan and Zakhchakhona.
Studied samples include:
Technological research aims to obtain graphite concentrate with over 80% graphite content, which is crucial for high-tech industries.
The laboratory also conducts testing of non-metallic raw materials from various deposits across the Republic, including:
These studies determine key physical and mechanical properties such as strength, density, and abrasiveness, allowing assessment of their industrial applicability.
The ongoing scientific and applied research contributes to efficient utilization of non-metallic resources, development of high value-added products, and rational use of the country’s mineral resource base.
