The journal "Geology and Mineral Resources" is a periodical scientific and practical publication, created in 1999 on the basis of the "Uzbek Geological Journal", founded in 1957 by Academician Kh.M. Abdullayev. Re-registered by the Press and Information Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 22, 2006, license No. 0049. 6 issues of the magazine are published annually.

Founders and publishers: Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Geology and Mineral Resources.

The main topics of the journal: general and regional geology, tectonics; magmatism, petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry; ore deposits, metallogeny; lithology, non-metallic minerals; geophysics, seismology; prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits; technology of enrichment and complex processing of mineral raw materials; equipment and technologies of exploration works; hydrogeology, engineering geology, geoecology; economics of mineral raw materials; legal support of subsoil use.

The journal is actively involved in the development of geological science in general and in Uzbekistan, in improving the efficiency of forecasting, prospecting, evaluation and exploration of mineral deposits, introducing and expanding new progressive scientific areas, methods and technologies; holding various scientific and research and production forums (seminars, conferences, meetings, etc.); training of highly qualified personnel in the field of geology; development of international cooperation in this area, etc.

The journal covers events from the life and activities of the team of geologists of the republic, scientific conferences and seminars, meetings, as well as information about major scientific achievements and events in the field of geology abroad. Taking into account the listed areas of topics, the editorial board of the journal compiles a general list of journal headings (rubricator).
