The State Institution “Mineral Resources Institute” held a spiritual and educational event dedicated to May 9 — the Day of Remembrance and Honour.

The event brought together the institute’s leadership, labour veterans who devoted many years to the development of science and applied research in the field of geology and mineral resources, as well as young specialists. The meeting served as a meaningful expression of respect for the older generation, professional continuity and the strong tradition of mentorship within the institute.

The event was opened by the Director of the Institute, M.U. Isokov. In his speech, he underlined the importance of the Day of Remembrance and Honour, noting that respect for historical memory, gratitude to the older generation and appreciation of peace and stability remain essential values for society and for the younger generation.

M.U. Isokov also paid special attention to the current activities of the Mineral Resources Institute. He spoke about ongoing scientific research, new projects, integration of science with industry, international cooperation and efforts to support young professionals. This part of the meeting was especially meaningful for the institute’s veterans, as it allowed those who had dedicated many years of their lives to the institution to see that the institute continues to develop and that the professional values they helped establish are being carried forward by a new generation.

In his address, the Director stated:

“Today, on the Day of Remembrance and Honour, we pay tribute not only to the historical memory of our people, but also to those who devoted their knowledge, work and best years to this institute. The scientific school you created and the professional foundation laid by your generation continue to serve as a strong support for young specialists. Every achievement of the institute carries the contribution, experience and dedication of our veterans”.

During the event, a warm and meaningful conversation was held with the institute’s veterans. Young specialists had the opportunity to learn more about their professional journey, memories related to the development of the institute and valuable experience accumulated over many years of work.

The event reflected the true spirit of the Day of Remembrance and Honour — preserving memory, showing respect to those who served with dedication, appreciating peace and passing professional traditions on to future generations.
