As part of Project No. 1809-24, jointly implemented by the State Institution “Mineral resurslar instituti” and JSC Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, large-scale research activities are being carried out in the Kokpatas–Okzhetpes intermontane depression.
The studies are being conducted by specialists of the Institute’s Geochemical Research Sector. Their main objective is to identify promising geological positions in covered areas and to develop scientifically grounded recommendations for subsequent exploration activities.
Atmogeochemical studies are of significant scientific and practical importance in forecasting mineral deposits. This method is particularly relevant for areas with complex geological conditions, where prospective targets may not be clearly exposed at the surface.
Based on the preliminary results obtained, promising positions were identified in the Kokpatas–Okzhetpes area. In April of this year, relevant sites were designated for drilling operations to be carried out by JSC Uzbekgeology, specifically by the Kokpatas Field Geological Exploration Expedition.
Research activities under the project are currently ongoing. The results obtained will further contribute to a more in-depth assessment of the area’s geological potential, the targeted organization of exploration works, and the expansion of the mineral resource base.
