Resolution No. PP-438 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 13, 2024, was adopted to strengthen geological exploration work in the Surkhandarya region. In accordance with the resolution, an 100 billion soums have been allocated from the state budget to further intensify geological exploration work in the region.

On June 5th, at the initiative of the Surkhandarya regional administration, a meeting chaired by the regional governor was held to discuss the progress of geological exploration projects in the region. Representatives of the State Institution "Institute of Mineral Resources" participated in this meeting and presented a detailed report on the work carried out and the results achieved. The report states that geological surveys are being conducted at several promising locations in the region, and their results play a crucial role in identifying new resources in the area.

To further expand their activities, the institute's staff are working on adhering to high-quality research standards and implementing new methods and technologies. They are also fulfilling the task of ensuring practical results of projects and timely submission of reports.

At the conclusion of the meeting, specific tasks were set for the institute: uncovering the region's mineral resources through active continuation of research, ensuring high quality of work, and demonstrating concrete results within the established timeframe. These strategic actions are expected to unlock the potential of transforming Surkhandarya not only into an agrarian region but also into a major industrial center.
