MINISTRY OF MINING INDUSTRY AND GEOLOGY
UNIVERSITY OF GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES
State institution "Institute of Mineral Resources"

THE MAIN TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT

- study of the material composition of ores of solid mineral deposits;

- development of mineralogical and geochemical prospecting signs of endogenous mineralization;

- mineralogical and geochemical mapping of individual areas for the purposes of detailed quantitative forecasting of hydrothermal mineralization;

- topomineralogical studies of individual regions to use their results in predicting hydrothermal mineralization.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CONDUCTED IN THE DEPARTMENT

- Within the framework of the State program for conducting research work on topic No. 1604 "Study of the material composition of ores and ore-bearing rocks of objects of noble, rare metals and rare earth elements", studies are being carried out to study the material composition of ores and ore-bearing rocks of the Kulkuduk, Western Yangi Umid, Eastern Tilla-Tag, Kurgantau, Nauka, Oktov-Sartakchy.

Mineralogical and petrographic studies are being carried out in the framework of economic contract with Uzbek Geology Exploration JSC in the following objects: Lolazor, Kumboskan, Aulisai, Chalcharatau, Kumbogut, Bespantau, Chukurkuduk, Kyzyltash, Vodiy, Tamdybulak, South Karashakho, Kurtkuduk, East Kansai, Maydansai , Chinarsai, Khandiza, Orailik, Zagdan-Goshsay, Pakdy, Vodorazdelny, Karatagata, etc.

The following scientific research is being carried out to solve the problems of mining enterprises:

- Mineralogical and technological mapping of the tailing dump No. 1 GMZ-2 with the calculation of gold reserves and 3D modeling.

- Study of the forms of gold (nanogold) in oil shale of the Aktau deposit and gold-bearing ores of the Amantaytau deposit

- Conducting studies of the original ore and concentrates obtained during the flotation enrichment of the ore of the Amantaytau deposit with the determination of the forms of carbon and gold.

RESULTS OF RESEARCHES

- The scientific bases and methodology of a new scientific direction of topomineralogical forecasting based on direct signs of mineralization have been developed. As a result of topomineralogical studies, prospective areas for gold and other minerals were specified. Topomineralogical forecast maps of the Chatkal-Kurama (scale 1:100000), Zirabulak-Ziaetddin (scale 1:50000) and Central Kyzylkum (scale 1:200000) regions were compiled using this technique.

- The features of the formation and patterns of placement of natural types of ores from the Balpantau and Yangi-Davon mines have been established.

- Established the prospects for gold and associated mineralization in the carbonaceous strata of the mountains of Uzbekistan.

- Study of the material composition of metasomatites and ores of explored objects associated with the black shale strata of Western Uzbekistan.
