Chief adviser R.Kh. Mirkamalov and head of "Geodynamics, regional geology and metallogeny" department F.K. Divaev participated in seminars on the methods of forecasting and prospecting of minerals in complex folded metallogenic zones and discussion of possible ways of scientific cooperation.
Seminars, roundtable discussions, familiarization with new developments in the field of ore mineral deposit forecasting and opportunities for conducting master classes for geologists of Uzbekistan, examination of the collection of geological samples of the Museum and its laboratory equipment were organized. "CERCAMC" employees - Dr. Raymar Seltmann, Dr. Alla Dolgopolova, Robin Armstrong took part in the discussion.
The seminars discussed issues of geodynamic regimes of formation of deposits of critical elements in uneven old folded belts of Eurasia.
During the discussions, joint field research plans were defined, and the most relevant topics for joint publications in top-rated journals were discussed.
Information was received about modern methods of analysis of chemical and mineralogical composition of rocks (laser ablation, electron microscopy, microprobe analysis).
In the collection of samples, a new lithium mineral (jadarite) was studied and photographed, which can also be found in the mines of Uzbekistan.
A working version of the joint article on lithium mines and Shavazsoy mine in particular was written.
Acquaintance with the museum's collection of geological samples and laboratory equipment was provided. The British National Museum of Natural History has a unique laboratory equipped with modern analytical equipment, which allows determining the geodynamic processes and absolute age of rock formation, metamorphic changes and ore genesis. In this regard, we consider it appropriate for doctoral students and young scientists to undergo internship in the above-mentioned laboratory.
